Hey everyone! Wow, this is the first time in three weeks where I’m posting a review. I’m excited! I also decided to try posting this blog from my phone just because I’ve been curious as to how good of an option this could actually be so let’s see how this goes lol.
So let’s begin!
What it is: “A lip stain that provides beautiful, long-lasting color.”
What it does: “This high-coverage lip product features avocado oil for a texture that transforms as you wear it: when applied, the initial cream texture becomes a silky, lightweight stain. Lips achieve stunning color and feel soft and comfortable.”
According to Sephora’s website, there are 17 shades that include both matte and satin finishes and they cost $13 each.
The shade I picked up was “Made in Italy” and it’s this BEAUTIFUL satin coral color. I really wanted to get a matte shade but there wasn’t many shades left and when it comes between a pretty satin coral and an alright matte shade, satin corals win every time. Sorry, not sorry.
The packaging is small, cute and simple. The smell is delicious; it’s sweet almost like sugar but definitely not overbearing. You can smell it when you put it on but I basically forget about it as soon as I’m done.
It has this really cool mousse like texture to it, it’s so light and delicate, I love it! It works well with my dry lips too. It doesn’t sink immediately into the lines of my lips which I like a lot. With one application, you’ll get a pretty opaque amount of color on your lips but you can always go in with a second coat if you’d like. I do suggest letting the first coat dry a bit before going in again!
I placed the lip stain on my lips around 8:30am this morning. You have to let it dry for about 5 minutes but once you do, when you drink from a cup or kiss the back of your hand, the surface is stainless which I love! As the day went on, I could feel my lips became a bit dry but it still looked good. I finally touched it up around 4pm just because I was meeting some friends for dinner and wanted my lips to look fresh.
But overall, I really do like it! I like that there’s no second step like there is with the Rimmel Provocalips lip color. The Sephora Cream Lip Stain doesn’t give a time frame on how long it’s supposed to last, but I’d say it lasted me through work which is all I really need. It is a lot easier to take completely off unlike the Provacalips but the lip stains have more of a sheer application than the Provoalips.
Overall, I think I like these better than the Provocalips but I want to get another color that’s more opaque so I can see how it holds up. Although I do not regret buying the shade I did, it’s a bit sheer but this only means that I’ll need to make another trip to Sephora!
Thank you for reading and chatting with Jack!
